Nicknamed “Big 19”, the Sacramento Clay Car 19 is full of San Francisco history. This car was originally built in 1883, and the Clay Street Line was the world’s very first Cable Car line with cars hitting the tracks on August 2nd, 1873. After the 1906 earthquake,
Car 19 was the first car to test the Sacramento-Clay Line, and was retired in February 1942.
Start at the Historic Cable Car Barn located at Washington & Mason, then enjoy traveling along the Mason and Hyde lines, and then over tracks not open to the public for a trip out the California line! Enjoy lunch provided by The Buena Vista and the opportunity for photos at various stops along this picturesque ride.
All while supporting the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank!
The proceeds from this ride will help us provide holiday meals to the 1 in 5 individuals at risk of hunger in San Francisco and Marin.
When: Saturday, November 9th, 2019 11:00 am-3:00 pm (approximately)
Where: Cable Car Museum and Barn, 1201 Mason Street
We have 40 seats, $125 each, and it’s first come, first serve.
