San Francisco-Marin Food Bank acknowledges that our warehouses and services are on the traditional and unceded Graton Rancheria and Coast Miwok territory (Marin) and the traditional and unceded lands of the Ramaytush Ohlone people of Yelamu and the Muwekma Ohlone (San Francisco), and pays respect to elders, both past and present, of the Graton Rancheria, Miwok, and Ohlone people.
We acknowledge colonialism is a root cause of many other “isms” and injustices. We turn the spotlight we are given away from ourselves and towards the voices of those who are continuously marginalized, silenced, and ignored; we give credit where credit is due. We recognize we have the privilege of operating on lands not of our own heritage of origin, acquired through processes of historical injustice.
May this acknowledgment remind us of our ongoing efforts to recognize, honor, and respect the Ohlone and Miwok people. We honor their legacy and commit to their tradition of land stewardship while building relationships and allyship to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin.
